A residential project following the successful design and construction of their industries corporate offices.
Located on the Riviera Country Club golf course in Coral Gables, Florida this extensive renovation of a rambling single family home, originally constructed with mediocre interior and exterior architectural features and finishes, resulted in satisfying the expectations of a close-knit family with passions for fine design, art, culinary pleasure and gracious entertainment.
John’s interior design challenge was to unify the disparate, meandering floor plan of the existing home and provide the owners with a residence supporting their family needs and cultural passions. Through comprehensive interior architectural solutions, upgrading the interior finishes, procuring new furniture, and creating comfortable spaces for entertaining, study and rest, the newly remolded home provides an oasis for family and a generous welcome for frequent guests.
White oak floors unify the residence and contrast to the warm mahogany, sapele and lacquered custom architectural woodwork and furnishings. Neutral colors, light texture and subtly patterned textiles and leathers used on the furniture are offset by the saturated colors, dynamic subjects and varied media found in the owner’s extensive fine art collection.
John also directed the design of the exterior amenities including an expansive lap pool, deck and verdant landscaping which embrace the view of the 12th fairway.
